Moral Obligation to Society

His grandfather taught him: "If we improve ourselves, every home will improve; when homes improve, society will improve; when society improves, the nation will improve." Dr. Singh has sought to prove himself in every sphere — education, research, industry, and life across America and Europe.

His sense of duty toward society became iron-forged when his aunt (bua) lost her young son — a tragedy deepened by the carelessness and failure of a government hospital. The grief did not leave him. If a family with education and standing could suffer such a loss, he began to ask what awaited the poor and the weak — those who have lost hope and accepted misery as their fate.

In Hajipur he sees that resignation daily: homes flooded in the rains, streets choked with waste, dignities lost in hospitals, hopelessness toward officials and teachers. Many have accepted poor treatment as normal. It is not normal. Because he has seen how societies function across America and more than twenty European countries, he acknowledges a responsibility others cannot yet see — to bring that knowledge to the people of Hajipur and Bihar.

He draws strength from Prahlada Mahārāja's prayer in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (7.9.43): "May all beings be happy and free from misery. I do not desire blessings for myself alone — I desire the welfare of all living beings."

Transforming a constituency does not always require waiting on government. On the ground — sanitation, drainage, schools, health awareness, transparency — much can begin with citizens and professionals organised with purpose. He seeks allies who bring merit, integrity, and vision — not the culture of career politicians, but a culture of solutions.

The question no one answers honestly

What can one MLA do alone?

MLAs and MPs today represent their party — not their constituency. Dr. Ashutosh Singh's answer: yes, one MLA can do a great deal — if they stand on merit, not on a party's favour.
